It is very important once you make the decision to make a change in your health that you are actually READY.  This may mean coming to terms with many things in your life, changing diet & sometimes make huge changes in lifestyle.

Acupuncture is not a magic bullet that will immediately 'FIX' you.

What this means is that Acupuncture helps/facilitates in allowing your body to become balanced and working in harmony with its own energy; it will not 'MAKE' you stop smoking, eat less, excercise more, BUT it does guide your body to 'crave' that direction.

Many individuals report feeling more energetic, not interested in smoking/eating- those cravings just are not a dominant component of their day.  This response is due to the brain signals/chemicals being sedated with natural endorphins that are released in the acupuncture sessions.

When the body functions properly and is nourished by blood and qi (energy) tissues begin to regenerate and function properly.

THAT IS THE MAGIC of ACUPUNCTURE.

Many times the series of treatment is to set a base of sessions- 3-4 sessions either once or twice a week;  and then to evaluate your response to the treatments, either continue at this frequency or to start to spread the sessions out to weekly or bi-monthly.

Most conditions can be resolved/managed within 10 treatments.

The beauty of acupuncture is that it is NOT a therapy that must be continued for the rest of your life.  Once the body is balanced this homeostatic balance is maintained until pulled off course with stress, an injury, or going back the original pattern that created the disharmony- it is your choice of how you manage your health, Acupuncture can put you in balance, what you do with it is....YOUR choice.

For ADDICTIONS either alcohol or tobacco the frequency and protocol that I see the best results for is:

3 visits in week 1, 2 visits in week 2, and then 1 visit in week 3.

Follow-up treatments are made as needed for maintenance, when triggers like stress creeps back and the cravings begin again- this is common in the first year of quiting, its not something to ignore, and getting support and a 'tune-up' treatment is a WISE investment.

For MUSCULAR disharmonies, a series of sessions initially will get the body back into alignment, and then its up to you to NOT OVERDUE it when your just beginning to feel better!  Many people when they start to feel better, and decrease their pain will then go and overexert themselves with too much activity too fast.  This puts you back to a pain cycle and will lengthen the amount of time that recovery will take.  The best advice is that a few weeks of moderated activity will pay off with recovery and true healing of your body to a stronger state.

SEASONAL TUNE-UP's is a WISE INVESTMENT for your health in the transition of seasons.

Boost your immune system, decrease your stress and re-set your body back to balance.
